Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi praised Dizang Bodhisattva:
Before Shakyamuni Buddha entered Nirvana, Dizang Bodhisattva made a great vow:
"Only when all beings are delivered shall I attain Bodhi;
as long as the hells are not yet empty, I shall not achieve Buddhahood."
This profound vow shook the entire saha world.
Such a vow did not arise without cause. For countless lifetimes, Dizang Bodhisattva has been renowned for delivering sentient beings. This is the state of no-self: relinquishing all worldly wealth and glory, He descended into the hells to care for the beings there. When beings are on the path of rebirth, they must pass through His judgment, where every good and evil deed is weighed and recorded.
In His past lives, Dizang Bodhisattva was also known for his deep filial piety. He guided the faithless to develop faith and ultimately delivered them, especially his mothers over several lifetimes. Thus, He is also revered as a Bodhisattva of great filial devotion
