Who is Master Padmasambhava?
He is the founder of Great Perfection and the direct inheritor of the Vajrayana lineage. Master Padmasambhava is both a manifestation of Guanyin Bodhisattva and the heart-child of Shakyamuni Buddha. Without the guidance of Guanyin Bodhisattva, he would not have been able to reach Shakyamuni Buddha. His merits also belong to Shakyamuni Buddha, Mahavairocana Buddha, and Guanyin Bodhisattva.
When the Tibetan king invited him to Tibet, Master Padmasambhava devoted his entire life to spreading the Dharma of Mahavairocana Buddha and the Nine Vehicle Great Perfection. Through his power, Tibet became a sacred Buddhist land, which came to be known as Tibetan Buddhism. Therefore, Master Padmasambhava may rightly be called both a Buddha of Tibet and a Bodhisattva of Tibet. Master Linchen Kharthu is a manifestation of Master Padmasambhava.
