Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi explained the background and level of Manjusri Bodhisattva to his disciples:

Manjusri Bodhisattva was Sakyamuni Buddha's teacher, and was the Buddha's teacher's teacher in past lives. Sakyamuni Buddha deeply valued Manjusri Bodhisattva. Manjusri Bodhisattva made an offering to his student Sakyamuni Buddha with his manifestation as a bodhisattva because Sakyamuni Buddha was fully equipped with wisdom, super powers, and merit reserve.

Sakyamuni Buddha is one of the most honorable and perfect Buddhas among all from the past to present. Eight Great Bodhisattvas were all princes in the past lives and had attained Buddhahood.

In order to help Sakyamuni Buddha to attain Enlightenment and to assist the Buddha to create milestones in Buddhism and spread the Dharma in the saha world, Manjusri received the Buddha's teachings with the manifestation of a Bodhisattva.

Manjusri is a Bodhisattva of wisdom. How does He assist Sakyamuni Buddha? He wields a sword in one hand to cut down evil demon and cut off ego. Evil thoughts or ideas are called demon by the Buddha. Manjusri Bodhisattva holds a scripture of sutra in another hand. What is the function of a sutra? To assist Sakyamuni Buddha to spread Buddhism and develop the cause. This is noble.

Sakyamuni Buddha venerated Him as the Chief Bodhisattva, but Manjusri did not become arrogant, instead, He was very modest and asked for the Buddha's instructions on what he did not understand. He conducted in-depth study in Buddhism; Master Padmasambhava would not attain the Achievement without the teachings received from Manjusri Bodhisattva.

Sakyamuni Buddha's Dharma are still spreading nowadays. The prosperity of Buddhism in the Dharma Vanishing Era just commences. It was the creation and preparation stage in the past; the works that Eight Great Bodhisattvas were also in the preparing process. The world peace and religious harmony have not realized yet and people are still have afflictions. This has caused the attention from the Buddhas in Space Realm. Ziguang Shang Shi came to this world to look for disciples with the Affinity and to gather bodhisattvas to the Holy Mountain Buddha Land.
